Gleneagles Medical Centre held its annual Nurses' Day Charity Food Fair on Sunday 8th August 2010. A target of RM130,000 was aimed to be raised during the fair which lasted from 10 am till 3 pm. With the usual patronage by the public, many stall had already sold all their goods by midday. The receipients of the fund raised were Hospice-at Home and Charis Hospice. Both groups were also at the fair with their stalls.

Another stall manned by volunteers from the Butterworth Hospice group.

Relay For Life 2010 came to a close with a Thank You Party held on Sat 7th August 2010 at Rumah Hospice. One hundred and seventy participants attended and included staff, volunteers, survivors, team leaders, donors and corporate sponsors. High tea was served and entertainment was provided by Sweet Memories with their rendition of favourite oldies.

The 9th Malaysian Hospice Congress was admirably hosted by the Perak Palliative Care Society at the Impiana Hotel, Ipoh on 8 - 9 May 2010 with the theme "Communication For Better Care". The keynote address was given by Dr. Rosalie Shaw, former Executive Director of APHN and an old friend of many MHC members. There were two plenary sessions and three concurrent symposia/workshop on topics appropriate and relevant to the theme of the Congress. The MHC Board sincerely expresses its appreciation and thanks to Dr. Koh Wai Keat, President PPCS and it organizing committee for their magnificent work on the Congress.

In conjunction with the 9th Malaysian Hospice Congress held on 8th - 9th May 2010, the Malaysian Hospice Council held its 7th Biennial General Meeting on the afternoon of 7th May 2010.

The Biennial General Meeting started at 5 pm. with
 The Chairman, Dr. N. Murli addressing the delegates to the Biennial General Meeting.

The Research manager and two other staff of MAKNA visited Rumah Hospice on 11th March 10 to have a discussion on matters of common interest. MAKNA explained their various projects and fund raising to cover them and invited Rumah Hospice to refer poor patietns who need financial assistance to their welfare division. Rumah Hospice, on its part, explained the planning and organization of the forthcoming international Asia Pacific Hospice Conference 2011 which will be held in Penang in July 2011 and invited MAKNA to support the conference financially and in any other appropriate way as it is a honour for the Conference to be held in Malaysia for the first time.
